Job description
Company Overview
CFO Advisory and Accountancy is a finance and advisory practice powered by technology, supporting SMEs across Qatar and the GCC in building sustainable growth. The firm blends cloud accounting, automated finance processes, and CPA-led Client Advisory Services, including virtual CFO support, to help businesses gain clearer visibility, stronger control, and more strategic decision-making. With reporting backed by analytics and advisory delivered through direct client support, the company helps clients reduce costs, improve performance, and scale with confidence.
Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar. The Senior Accountant – Client Advisory will oversee a portfolio of SME clients and act as a trusted finance advisor for reporting, compliance, and business insight.
This role is not centered on routine bookkeeping. Most transactional accounting is automated, with client data moving through a portal and being processed in an ERP-based system, while reports are produced using analytics tools. The emphasis here is on review, accuracy, control, and advisory support — making sure the figures are reliable and helping clients use financial information to make better decisions.
Key Duties
- Serve as the main finance contact for a set of SME clients and guide them on accounting and advisory matters.
- Check the work completed by data analysts, respond to their technical questions, and help strengthen their capabilities.
- Monitor bank reconciliations, period-end completion, and the accuracy and completeness of client records handled through the platform.
- Examine and approve financial statements and management reports before they are shared with clients.
- Lead monthly discussions with clients to review performance, identify concerns, and explore opportunities for growth.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning, turning financial data into practical business guidance.
- Support compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, internal controls, audit needs, and documentation practices.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, with prior exposure to review work or mentoring preferred.
- Solid grounding in core accounting tasks such as preparing financial statements, performing reconciliations, and completing period-end close.
- Ability to advise clients or managers and explain financial results in a business-focused way.
- Experience using cloud ERP systems and automated finance workflows, along with advanced Excel and reporting or BI tools.
- Good understanding of accounting standards, internal controls, and audit support requirements.
- Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to non-finance business owners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CMA certification is preferred.
- Must already be based in Doha or willing and able to relocate there.
