Senior Accountant

Overview

This full-time Senior Accountant role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is focused on the Home Automation / Low Voltage Products sector. The position calls for a seasoned finance professional who can oversee complete accounting operations, deliver accurate financial reporting, and ensure statutory and tax compliance. Strong capability in cost accounting, project cost sheet preparation, month-end closing, MIS reporting, and tax-related compliance is essential. Background in Home Automation, Low Voltage Products, Manufacturing, or similar industries is strongly preferred.

What you will do

• Run the full accounting workflow, including ledger management, journal posting, account reconciliations, and upkeep of financial records.
• Manage both payables and receivables, covering billing, collections, supplier settlements, and balance reconciliations.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities, including accruals, provisions, and necessary adjustment entries.
• Create project cost sheets, track project budgets, review cost deviations, and suggest ways to strengthen cost control.
• Maintain adherence to VAT, corporate tax, and other mandatory reporting obligations.
• Prepare monthly MIS packs, cash flow statements, financial analysis reports, and management-level summaries.
• Liaise with auditors and work closely with procurement, operations, and project teams to support precise financial reporting.

Required background

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a similar discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting with responsibility for the full accounting cycle.
• Strong, hands-on expertise in cost accounting and preparing cost sheets, which is mandatory.
• Practical exposure to the general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Working knowledge of VAT, corporate tax, statutory compliance, and audit support processes.
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, NetSuite, or comparable platforms.
• Advanced Excel capability, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting functions.
• Good analytical thinking, communication ability, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred experience

• Exposure to Home Automation, Low Voltage Products, Building Automation, Electrical, Electronics, or Manufacturing environments is an added advantage.
• Experience in project accounting, budgeting, and variance analysis is preferred.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA, or an equivalent certification are beneficial.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving setting while meeting reporting and compliance deadlines.
