This position will lead daily management of healthcare clients’ strategic communication programs, encompassing regulatory milestones, disease awareness, social and influencer initiatives, patient advocacy, and media outreach. Collaboration with senior leadership and clients is essential to shape impactful communications that drive client goals, manage timelines, budgets, supervise junior staff, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, managing account activities to advance strategic objectives.
- Offer insightful client counsel reflecting an understanding of healthcare priorities, market trends, and communications best practices.
- Maintain deep knowledge of clients’ business environment, competitors, products, market dynamics, influencers, and media.
- Contribute to research and create comprehensive, modern integrated public relations and communications strategies.
- Generate innovative, audience-centered ideas to enhance programs.
- Proactively identify potential risks or challenges, escalating with proposed solutions as necessary.
- Lead development of key materials such as media plans, press releases, messaging documents, social content, briefings, and presentations.
- Ensure meticulous quality control for accuracy, clarity, strategic fit, and polish.
- Maintain responsive, clear, and solution-oriented communication with clients and teams.
- Facilitate effective internal collaboration, nurturing creativity and input from junior members.
- Present ideas confidently in client meetings and manage delegation with clear expectations and deadlines.
- Oversee budget building, financial tracking, statements of work, and forecasts aligned to client needs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 years experience in public relations, communications, healthcare communications, or pharmaceutical communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, biology, life sciences, or related discipline.
- Robust understanding of product communications, patient advocacy, disease awareness, and regulatory or data milestones.
- Familiarity with clinical trial phases, FDA approvals, and the healthcare communications ecosystem.
- Preferred experience with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) processes and platforms such as Veeva.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple client projects in dynamic agency settings.
- Experienced in client relationship management and offering strategic counsel.
- Track record mentoring and guiding junior staff members.
- Curious and comfortable incorporating AI technology into communications workflows.
- Prior experience working on healthcare-specific public relations campaigns is an advantage.
