Position overview
Walmart Canada is hiring a Self-Checkout Attendant in Brockville, Ontario. In this customer-facing retail role, you will help shoppers use the self-service area smoothly, deliver friendly support, and contribute to a positive store experience. Key duties
- Keep the self-checkout zone tidy, orderly, and clear of clutter, spills, fixtures, and other hazards.
- Guide customers on how to use self-service checkout properly and efficiently when needed.
- Support in-store promotional initiatives such as credit card offers, product protection plans, and charity campaigns where applicable.
- Watch customer activity and step in when assistance may be required.
- When interventions or quality checks are needed, explain them politely and reassure customers that these are standard procedures.
- Understand how to respond to EAS alarms and complete the Failure to Deactivate log.
- Inform the Customer Service Manager if the self-checkout area is running low on cash or experiencing technical problems.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated storage location after use.
Pay
The starting hourly wage for this role is $17.75.
Minimum qualifications
Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
