Self Checkout Attendant - Part Time

Position Overview

Serving as a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada offers a valuable opportunity to grow your expertise in retail and customer service. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer care while helping shoppers efficiently navigate and complete transactions at the self-checkout stations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a tidy, organized, and hazard-free self-checkout area by removing clutter, debris, and liquids.
• Provide customers with guidance on how to properly and effectively use self-service options when needed.
• Promote Walmart's sponsored initiatives such as credit card programs, product protection plans, and charitable efforts whenever appropriate.
• Monitor customers’ activity to identify when they require assistance.
• Politely inform customers about routine interventions and quality checks on self-service systems to reassure them that these are standard procedures.
• Possess knowledge of how to respond to Electronic Article Surveillance alarms and complete the necessary "Failure to Deactivate" reports.
• Notify the Customer Service Manager promptly if the self-checkout area is low on cash or facing technical difficulties.
• Ensure Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated locations after use.

Compensation

The base starting pay rate for this position is $17.75 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 16 years old.
