About the Role
This position offers the chance to support a well-known U.S. managed security services provider in safeguarding a major utility organization. The role is for a full-time Security Operations Center (SOC) Tier 1 Analyst working from the office in San Antonio, Texas, on a continuous rotating schedule.
Role Snapshot
- Entry-level SOC Tier 1 analyst position within a security operations team
- 24/7 shift rotation, including evening, overnight, and weekend coverage
- Work location is fully on-site in San Antonio, TX
- Permanent full-time employment
- Hands-on use of Splunk is required
What You’ll Be Supporting
You will contribute to a mission-critical security environment that protects an important energy utility. The work is fast-moving, collaborative, and tied to the security of a nationally significant infrastructure sector.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and activity within the SOC environment
- Perform initial triage of incidents and identify items that need escalation
- Support the day-to-day operation of a 24x7 security monitoring team
- Use Splunk to assist with log review, alert investigation, and incident analysis
- Maintain clear communication with the team during rotating shifts
- Work in a high-security setting with attention to process and response timing
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a SOC or cybersecurity operations setting
- Good understanding of alert monitoring, incident triage, and escalation workflows
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Commitment to working full-time on-site in San Antonio
- Practical experience or familiarity with Splunk
