Job description

Role Overview

This temporary part-time security position is based in Cork, Ireland and follows weekend night shifts for 22 hours each week. The hourly pay is €18, with an additional €20 night allowance and a Sunday premium.

Purpose of the Role

The main responsibility of the post is to help prevent loss, damage, waste, or disruption for the client and the client’s customers.

Key Duties

  • Complete all required site-specific training to the expected standard.
  • Carry out all duties in line with the published Assignment Instructions for the site.
  • Review the Assignment Instructions regularly and stay updated on any changes that may improve service delivery.
  • Monitor CCTV where needed.
  • Identify and report health and safety hazards, or possible hazards, immediately.
  • Remain observant for threats or changes in the environment and act quickly to reduce the risk of disruption, loss, or damage.
  • Use good judgement and initiative, and escalate situations promptly when they appear to become threatening.
  • Record incidents clearly and accurately in a notebook as soon as possible so the information can support the incident reporting process.

Requirements

  • Strong spoken English is essential.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a similar security role is required.
  • Excellent written communication and close attention to detail are necessary.
  • Good computer skills are needed.
  • First aid training would be an advantage.
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional phone manner are essential.
  • Availability for weekend night shifts is required.
  • A valid PSA licence must be held.
  • Safe Pass certification is desirable.
  • Having your own transport is an advantage.
