What the role involves
This position focuses on helping maintain a secure environment for people, property, and assets while providing a courteous, visible security presence. The work includes routine patrols, handling incidents, and interacting with clients and visitors in a professional manner.
Key duties
- Carry out patrols to protect people, property, and assets
- Present a professional, friendly, and approachable security presence
- Respond to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and assistance requests
- Assess risks and act appropriately in line with site procedures
- Follow all company and site security rules and protocols
- Prepare incident reports and keep records accurate and up to date
Candidate profile
Applicants should bring prior security experience, with retail security experience considered an advantage. The role also calls for good physical fitness, the ability to work independently, careful attention to detail, and a consistent record of reliability and punctuality. Candidates must be comfortable working across day, night, weekday, and weekend shifts, and must hold full New Zealand working rights.
Mandatory qualifications and requirements
- Valid security licence
- Current first aid certification
- Certificate of Approval (COA)
- Previous experience in security, ideally with retail exposure
- Availability for day and night shifts, including weekdays and weekends
- Good physical condition for patrol work
- Ability to work without close supervision and follow procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual work history
- Full legal right to work in New Zealand
