Job Overview
Deer Park Hotel is expanding its security team by recruiting a Security Officer responsible for safeguarding guests, staff, and property. The role involves addressing guest concerns, monitoring premises, preventing losses, managing emergencies, and enforcing all safety and security protocols within the accommodation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain the safety and security of hotel residents, employees, and property.
- Carry out regular patrols in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor CCTV surveillance and control access points diligently.
- React swiftly to security incidents including disturbances, theft, or suspicious behavior.
- Implement fire safety measures and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Collaborate with local authorities and emergency services when necessary.
- Secure the premises during events held on Howth Castle estate during assigned shifts.
- Uphold all accommodation policies, service standards, and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements, taking reasonable care for self, colleagues, residents, and others present.
- Assist in training and induction of new security personnel when requested.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company information as per policy guidelines.
- Review and comply with the Employee Handbook and company policies.
- Demonstrate flexibility across job roles and departments within the organization.
Skills and Qualifications
- Exceptional guest service and communication skills.
- Proficient in conflict resolution and effective problem-solving.
- High attention to detail and strong situational awareness.
- Capable of staying calm under pressure.
- Competent in report writing and documentation.
- Possession of a mandatory PSA license.
- At least four years of experience working within the Irish security sector.
- Practical knowledge of safety regulations, fire standards, and emergency protocols.
- Availability and willingness to work rotating shifts including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and patrolling extensively.
