Role overview
G4S Security Services is seeking a trained Security Officer to serve as a visible first line of protection for client premises, property, information, and people. The position is based in the Operations department and reports to the Site/Patrol Supervisor.
This is a full-time onsite role that includes night shifts, weekends, and public holidays. The ideal candidate will maintain a strong security presence while still delivering courteous and professional service to employees, visitors, contractors, and the public.
What you will do
- Carry out routine foot and/or vehicle patrols across the interior, perimeter, parking areas, and other sensitive locations to spot unauthorized access or safety risks.
- Check security fixtures such as doors, gates, locks, and fire exits to confirm they are secure and working properly.
- Control site entry and exit for staff, guests, contractors, and vehicles.
- Inspect IDs, distribute visitor passes, and keep accurate visitor records in digital or paper form.
- Welcome people in a courteous manner while staying alert to changing situations.
- Apply company rules, standard operating procedures, and location-specific security instructions.
- Respond promptly as an initial point of contact during incidents such as fire alerts, medical emergencies, safety concerns, or security incidents.
- Record daily activity notes, patrol records, check sheets, and incident details clearly and accurately.
What is required
- Senior High School Certificate.
- Valid Ghana Card identification.
- Ability to remain on your feet and walk for long periods, including an entire shift if needed, and to use stairs or move over uneven ground.
- Willingness and ability to complete G4S physical fitness training.
- Successful completion of a full background verification and reference screening.
- Clear verbal communication and written reporting skills.
- Strong emotional control, with the ability to stay composed, professional, and de-escalate tense situations under pressure.
Working conditions
The role may require prolonged standing, walking, stair climbing, and movement across uneven areas. Shift coverage includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
