Job description
Overview
This fixed-term Security Officer role runs for 12 months at the Fermoy site in County Cork, Ireland. The position sits within the Human Resources Department and reports to the Security Lead. There are no direct reports.
Objective of the Role
The purpose of the job is to safeguard the company, its people, and its property from physical risks and from the unauthorized removal of assets.
Key Duties
- Control access to the site and stop people entering without permission.
- Support fire evacuation procedures and other emergency practice drills.
- Follow the relevant standard operating procedures during emergencies and drills.
- Protect company property from being taken without authorization.
- Conduct searches when requested or when the situation requires it.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports and pass them on to the appropriate authorities where needed.
- Keep all security logs truthful, complete, and up to date.
- Monitor the premises using internal CCTV systems and regular patrols.
- Handle phone duties outside standard office hours.
- Perform weekly checks on the fire sprinkler system and fire alarm.
- Accompany supervisors or team leaders to stores when asked.
- Complete daily and night patrols across the site.
Person Specification
Applicants should have prior experience in a security role. A college-level qualification in security studies would be beneficial, and a first aid certificate would also be an advantage. Familiarity with fire extinguishers and how to use them is desirable.
