Job description
Role and team
As a Security Guard at this logistics site, you will help protect the location professionally and ensure that employees feel safe and secure across the warehouse. Working with an international security team, you will support crime prevention and investigative tasks, actively contribute to safeguarding company assets, and help strengthen the site’s security culture.
This is a chance to join from the beginning as part of the core team and help shape the launch of the new warehouse.
What you will do
- Act as the first point of contact for employees on all security-related matters and handle mainly administrative tasks that keep security processes running smoothly.
- Monitor the building using video surveillance systems and manage access permissions for employees, visitors, and external partners.
- Respond to alarm events, coordinate external emergency and security services, carry out protective measures, and support theft-prevention activities.
- In case of policy violations, secure evidence, prepare reports, observe suspicious individuals, and intervene when criminal activity is identified.
- Provide first aid when needed and initiate fire protection measures if required.
- Protect sensitive conversations, conduct patrols including reporting duties, and take on service tasks such as issuing employee badges, managing lost property, and supporting onboarding.
- Take ownership of your responsibilities and continuously develop your knowledge and skills to improve security processes together with the team.
What we are looking for
- Ideally, you have completed the security qualification under Section 34a of the German Trade Regulation Act (GewO) and hold additional certifications in first aid and/or fire protection.
- Preferably, you bring at least 2 years of professional experience working with people as well as in administrative tasks.
- You are a team player with strong commitment, physical stamina, and mental resilience, and you are willing to complete internal training in areas such as communication basics, evacuation assistance, first aid, and fire safety, as well as learn the site’s security systems.
- You adapt quickly to new software and enjoy working with Google Workspace, various apps, and web tools to keep track of processes and document them correctly.
- You communicate clearly and pass on knowledge in a way that is understandable, sustainable, and appropriate to your colleagues’ level of experience.
- Your German is strong enough to produce error-free reports in speaking and writing, and you have basic English skills at A2 level to support team communication and deliver excellent security service.
Benefits
- Fixed shift schedules in a two-shift system with good planning reliability.
- Up to 30 vacation days per year.
- Two paid days off each year for volunteering.
- 40% discount on Zalando products, 30% discount on Zalando Lounge, plus discounts with external partners.
- Free Zalando shares through the employee share program.
- Access to a staff discount portal via an external voucher platform.
- Support for family and health services, including mental well-being, free initial consultation, legal advice, and coaching options.
- Subsidized meals in the company cafeteria after the site opens.
- Employer contribution to occupational pension savings.
- Free parking and EV charging stations.
- Contribution toward the job ticket or Deutschland Ticket.

The employer is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and reducing bias in recruitment.
