Job description

Role overview

This position sits within a busy operations function in Dublin and offers the chance to broaden your understanding of the Securities business across multiple products. The main focus of the role is to manage the daily processing responsibilities for the Principal Paying Agency payments team.

Citi has been established in Ireland since 1965 and operates as the Citibank Europe Plc headquarters. As part of a major global financial institution, you will contribute to a team that supports clients through responsible financial services that help drive growth and economic progress.

What you will be doing

  • Make sure all currency cut-off times and daily processing deadlines are consistently met.
  • Enter and check value-date payments, including MT202 and MT103 messages, through internal systems.
  • Carry out funding entry and verification for PPA activity.
  • Review payments linked to registered and external depositaries.
  • Check daily tracking sheets that capture currency payments across all products.
  • Monitor and trace funds as part of the credit approval workflow.
  • Verify extra claims and recall-related adjustments.
  • Handle and resolve queries received through the team mailbox.
  • Follow up with issuers and clients when funds have not been received for value-date release.

What you need to bring

The ideal candidate will come from an operations background and have a solid understanding of financial securities. Prior exposure to payment or cash processing is important for success in this role. Strong communication, client service, organisation, and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with the capacity to work accurately under pressure and maintain high output even when volumes change.

Work style and benefits

This is a full-time role in a business-casual workplace with an onsite setup and a hybrid arrangement that allows up to 2 days of work from home each week. You will receive a competitive base salary that is reviewed annually, along with a range of benefits designed to support your wellbeing and that of your family.

Citi also emphasises an inclusive environment where people are encouraged to bring their full selves to work and grow into their potential.
