Job description
About the Role
OneSchool Global NZ is looking for an energetic and capable Science Teacher for its Gisborne campus. This is a permanent, full-time teaching role for someone who is enthusiastic about motivating young learners and building their interest in scientific exploration. The position is suitable for candidates already in the region or those open to relocating to New Zealand’s East Coast.
You will need a solid grasp of the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA, and should be able to design and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that help students meet their academic objectives. The role involves teaching a variety of science subjects and supporting learners to strengthen their curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in understanding scientific concepts.
The teaching model combines campus-based learning with participation in a nationwide online learning network, so you will work with students in both settings.
What We Offer
- A salary package that sits 6–11% above state rates, with relocation support available for the right person.
- Access to professional development through a dedicated Teacher Academy and other ongoing learning programmes.
- A collaborative, encouraging workplace where teachers are respected and supported to perform at their best.
- A modern learning setting with established technology and resources to support effective teaching.
- Connection to a national network of teachers, creating chances to work with subject experts across multiple campuses.
- A strong work-life balance, with manageable workloads and no expectation of after-school or weekend extracurricular duties.
Candidate Profile
- Prior teaching experience in New Zealand is required.
- Applicants must hold current New Zealand teacher registration, or be eligible to gain it.
- Experience teaching NCEA Science is considered a strong advantage.
- You should be committed to learner-focused teaching and high academic standards.
- Good communication and relationship-building ability is essential.
