About the employer
For more than 75 years, the company has been producing New Zealand lamb, beef, and venison raised on grass, with products reaching customers in over 65 countries.
The opportunity
The Mataura site is hiring enthusiastic labourers, butchers, and boners to join the night shift team. Opportunities are available across the slaughterboard and further processing areas.
This is a full-time seasonal role. Work is scheduled Monday to Friday, with occasional Sundays during periods of higher production. Start and finish times vary by department or section. Typical shifts run from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am.
Applicants with prior experience in similar work are welcome, and candidates who are new to the industry but eager to learn are also encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided.
Working conditions and term
The role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the possibility of working up to 45 hours weekly. Seasonal employment may continue for as long as 11 months.

About you
You should be eligible to work in New Zealand, comfortable following workplace health and safety rules, able to work well in a team, physically fit, dependable, and committed. Before starting, you must pass a pre-employment drug screen and medical check. You will also need valid identification in the form of a driver licence plus either a birth certificate or passport.
