Job description
Role overview
A client in Dublin is seeking an experienced Scrum Master and Agile Coach for a daily-rate contract. The assignment is with a recognized organization that has a substantial body of work scheduled over the next 18 to 24 months. The right person will be confident guiding teams on the most suitable Agile practices and will bring hands-on experience coaching Agile delivery across several teams at scale.
Core responsibilities
- Lead Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Demonstrate success in shaping, supporting, and energizing teams in an Agile setting.
- Monitor and maintain team metrics to encourage ongoing improvement.
- Support teams in self-organisation, continuous learning, and working effectively across functions.
- Work with the Product Owner to keep the backlog well managed, planning practical next steps in a complex environment, and ensuring product items are written clearly and concisely.
- Help create a culture where teams continually improve how they work.
- Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles, practices, and frameworks.
- Strengthen the organization’s understanding, adoption, and application of Agile ways of working.
- Adapt comfortably to shifting priorities and changing requirements while managing your own workload and deadlines.
- Develop effective relationships within teams, across teams, and with other business areas and stakeholders.
- Bring a solid understanding of system architecture, software development practices, and related tools.
Delivery and reporting oversight
- Oversee budget tracking, time recording, and reporting to align with Finance, PMO, and funding expectations.
- Follow and communicate delivery progress across epics, features, and stories using Agile measures such as burn-downs and backlog analysis.
- Prepare accurate spend forecasts and release plans based on velocity, resource allocation, and story point estimates.
