Power BI Developer

Role overview

We are seeking a senior-level Data BI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, DAX, and SQL for a key position within an information services team supporting a financial leasing business. The work will focus closely on aviation specialists to expand and improve the core reporting suite. Key responsibilities

• Partner with aviation teams to understand, consolidate, and refine internal reporting needs.
• Create Power BI dashboards and reports that satisfy business expectations while following established data standards.
• Develop and support complex SQL stored procedures and database views.
• Collaborate with the BI Manager, data engineers, project managers, and other reporting colleagues on larger initiatives and data projects.
• Coordinate with external suppliers and the global development team where needed.
• Provide guidance on the most effective way to present data, insights, and reporting outputs.
• Deliver ongoing support for existing BI reporting solutions.
• Participate in daily reporting stand-ups.

Required qualifications and experience

• Third-level qualification in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of SQL experience.
• At least 5 years of experience working with Power BI and DAX.
• Background in a DevOps environment, with a strong commitment to a support-oriented build approach.
• Strong understanding of sound data modelling principles.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, interpret, and deliver business reporting requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using GIT or similar source control/versioning tools.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
• Strong sense of urgency and the ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines while managing a steady workload.
• Comfort working as part of a multicultural, geographically distributed team.
• Knowledge of data science or machine learning is an advantage.
