Scrum Master

Overview

Our client is looking to hire a Scrum Master responsible for guiding an Agile development team within a security-focused technology environment. This individual will act as the key liaison between the Security Team and other business units, facilitating communication and clearing obstacles to enable timely project delivery.

Key Duties

• Lead daily stand-up meetings, plan sprints, conduct sprint reviews, and organize retrospectives.
• Act as the central coordinator for a small security-focused team, handling incoming requests and communicating updates externally.
• Engage with stakeholders from security, application development, and business units to collect and clarify requirements.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain and prioritize the product backlog effectively.
• Identify and eliminate impediments to maintain smooth project progress.
• Promote a collaborative, self-managed team atmosphere consistent with Scrum practices.
• Ensure compliance with Scrum principles within the team.
• Monitor and report on project metrics and status.
• Provide Agile coaching and mentorship to team members.
• Coordinate with global and offshore teams, aligning sprint activities across different time zones.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for planning, tracking, and team collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a Scrum Master or in a related role.
• Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps; strong Jira experience is also acceptable.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional and stakeholder groups.
• Team-focused, coachable mindset; comfortable coordinating with global/offshore teams and flexible with adjusted work hours.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of security domains such as application security, identity and access management (IAM), or compliance.
• Exposure to other Agile frameworks, including Kanban and SAFe.
• Experience using Power BI for metric reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts efficiently.

This position is a contract role expected for 12 months, with potential extensions, working on-site in Kansas City, MO.
