Job description
About the role
In close coordination with the program director, you will help shape the strategic development and continued expansion of the BWL-Digital Commerce Management degree program. The role focuses on making key topics more visible externally, supporting research initiatives, and contributing to practice-oriented teaching formats.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, produce, and refine studies, white papers, and trend analyses on digital and business-relevant topics, from the initial concept and empirical data collection through to publication-ready presentation.
- Independently analyze and interpret data, including survey and study results, using quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Design and execute communication initiatives aimed at attracting prospective students and dual partner companies, especially via social media and events.
- Plan, coordinate, and support hands-on teaching formats such as company projects, case studies, and integration seminars.
- Assist students with project work and final theses, both substantively and in terms of organization and methodology.
- Conduct structured research, documentation, and internal knowledge management on topics relevant to the program, including the purposeful use of AI tools to improve efficiency.
You will work independently with considerable room to shape the role, while staying closely aligned with an engaged team across teaching and research.
Profile
- A completed postgraduate university degree (master’s degree or equivalent), preferably in business administration, business informatics, communications, media studies, or social sciences with a connection to digital topics.
- Strong understanding of how AI works, especially generative AI, and the ability to use it purposefully in day-to-day work and in a business context.
- Sound knowledge of retail/commercial operations and the dynamics of digital commerce, the field in which the team researches and teaches.
- Solid statistical knowledge and methodological research skills to carry out empirical studies independently and present findings in a well-founded way.
- Enjoyment of writing, research, and explaining complex topics, along with a strong sense for language and audience needs (business partners and students).
- A structured, self-directed way of working and good organizational skills when managing multiple projects.
- Confident use of digital tools such as Office 365, Canva, and Miro.
- Team spirit, initiative, and enthusiasm for working at the intersection of academia and practice.
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
