Overview

Join Genoa Ventures as a Scientific Assistant in our Banana Biotechnology department based in Norwich, England. This full-time onsite role offers an exciting opportunity to work in cutting-edge gene-editing for banana crop improvement. No prior science degree or laboratory experience is necessary, as complete training will be provided.

Job Summary

You will support the sterile production process within a tissue culture laboratory focused on banana plants. This position suits individuals accustomed to repetitive tasks that require manual dexterity, precision, and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain sterile banana plant and embryo cultures using established sterile techniques.
  • Execute high-volume technical procedures with accuracy and repeatability.
  • Keep detailed, accurate records and properly label all samples.
  • Closely follow established laboratory protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team of 8-10 technicians on lab assignments.

  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced plant production environment.
  • Ability to consistently follow instructions with exactness.
  • Strong organizational aptitude and ability to meet deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy in documentation and note-taking.
