Role overview
Namya Press is seeking a seasoned Scholarly Publishing & Journal Management Specialist for a full-time position. The role can be performed remotely or from the office in Delhi, India.
What you will do
- Oversee and assist with end-to-end scholarly journal publishing operations.
- Partner with product and technical colleagues to refine editorial and publishing procedures.
- Review and map the full manuscript journey, including submission, peer review, editorial decisions, production, and final publication.
- Draft process documentation and define functional needs for workflows.
- Validate publishing workflows through testing and suggest process enhancements.
- Share practical guidance based on scholarly publishing standards and industry methods.
- Help with journal setup, configuration, and onboarding sessions.
What is required
- A minimum of 3 years working in scholarly publishing or journal management.
- Practical, mandatory experience using Open Journal Systems (OJS).
- Strong grasp of the full journal lifecycle, from submission through peer review, revisions, copyediting, production, and publication.
- Good analytical ability along with strong written and verbal communication.
- Comfort working across different functions and collaborating with technical and product teams.
Preferred tools and platforms
- Experience with ScholarOne.
- Experience with Editorial Manager.
- Familiarity with Crossref.
- Familiarity with ORCID.
- Knowledge of DOI registration processes.
- Understanding of JATS XML.
- Knowledge of Scopus.
- Knowledge of Web of Science.
- Knowledge of DOAJ.
- Awareness of COPE guidelines.
- Understanding of open access publishing.
