Role overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is hiring a Scheduling Assistant for the Staff Scheduling unit at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to the Manager, Staff Scheduling, this position supports the hospital’s mission, values, and management philosophy by helping coordinate staffing coverage for clinical units and departments to maintain adequate staffing levels around the clock. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Compensation
The role offers an hourly pay range of $22.857 to $26.424.
Experience and education
- Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education is required.
- At least 1 year of experience using ESP or another computerized staffing system for substantial staffing and scheduling work is required.
- Direct customer service experience, with the main responsibility being a front-line contact point by phone and/or in person, is required.
- Experience in a busy, high-pressure environment is required.
- Previous staff scheduling experience is preferred.
Skills and abilities
- Comfort with standard computer systems and common office software such as spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and email.
- Strong command of English for reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
- Capability to use ESP accurately and efficiently for staffing replacements and scheduling.
- Discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to ask for help when needed.
- Professional and courteous telephone etiquette.
- Strong organizing and prioritization skills.

Employment conditions
