Job description

Role overview

The Scenario Designing Specialist will lead work related to identifying, categorizing, designing, and building scenarios for assessment. The position also supports benchmarking activities for scenario development and helps drive the implementation of recommended improvements.

This role is responsible for putting the scenario design and development governance framework into practice, ensuring tasks are carried out in line with that framework, and recommending updates or refinements to management when needed.

The specialist will also help prepare responses to requests received by the organization, working with the modeling team to provide results across modeled scenarios.

Key responsibilities

  • Help develop and maintain governance frameworks for scenario design and development, while proposing practical enhancements and updates as needed. Ensure the framework aligns with applicable local, federal, regional, and global requirements.
  • Using entered model inputs, assist the modeling team with regular updates to energy, water, and wider energy-related models.
  • Work with the modeling team to create and maintain forms and models for energy, water, and electricity data entry, including updated information gathered from key stakeholders and relevant local, federal, regional, and global sources.
  • Support stakeholder management activities connected to scenario design and development, and assist in the final preparation of modeled data.
  • Conduct in-depth research and coordinate with different institutions to better understand scenario development approaches and related issues, comparing them with other frameworks for benchmarking and performance measurement.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, Data Management, or a related discipline is required.
