Role overview

The HSE Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-controlled environment at a major onsite facility in Jeddah. The role focuses on health, safety, and environmental oversight, with particular attention to stadium operations, crowd movement, emergency readiness, and workplace welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and monitor compliance with relevant local and international health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Oversee crowd safety during busy events, including safe entry and exit flows, identification of congestion risks, and coordination of security-related precautions.
• Carry out regular site inspections and audits to spot hazards, evaluate structural safety concerns, and reduce risks within the stadium environment.
• Take charge of emergency preparedness activities such as evacuation planning, drill execution, and liaison with local authorities and medical responders.
• Handle accident and near-miss reporting, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Provide safety inductions and briefings to staff and contractors, while also keeping track of employee welfare and wellbeing.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certification such as NEBOSH or OSHA is preferred. Candidates should typically bring 5 to 12+ years of experience in HSE roles, ideally gained in mega-projects, large public venues, or event management settings.

Skills and tools

The position calls for strong incident handling, analytical thinking, and comfort using HSE reporting software.
