Job Overview
The SAP Project Manager will oversee and steer the SAP implementation or transformation projects, with a preference for those involving S/4HANA, at our Dubai location. This leadership role demands proficient coordination of stakeholders, vendors, and teams while strictly following SAP Activate or similar project methodologies to deliver projects efficiently within the agreed scope, budget, and timelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive SAP project phases including blueprinting, realization, testing, deployment, and post-deployment hypercare support.
- Ensure project completion within time and financial constraints, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Create and update project documentation such as plans, schedules, risk and issue logs, and status reports.
- Manage project governance structures, steering committees, formal approvals, and documentation control.
- Engage effectively with business stakeholders, IT leadership, functional consultants, developers, and integration teams.
- Organize and lead workshops, requirements gathering, and solution design reviews.
- Supervise both in-house and external resources including partners, vendors, and contractors.
- Proactively identify risks, implement mitigation tactics, and manage issues and change requests, ensuring compliance with PMO standards and best practices.
Required SAP Expertise
- In-depth experience with SAP S/4HANA modules such as FI, MM, SD, PP, EWM, HR, among others.
- Comprehensive understanding of cross-module integration, data migration, interface management, custom development, and testing lifecycle.
- Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology or older ASAP framework.
Governance and Reporting
- Deliver weekly project progress reports to CIO, IT Director, or project steering committee.
- Monitor key performance indicators, deliverables, and team productivity.
- Maintain thorough documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), System Design Documents (SDD), test scripts, cutover plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP, with 4 to 6 years specifically focused on project or program management roles.
- Successful completion of at least two full SAP implementation cycles, preferably utilizing S/4HANA.
- Strong grasp of project management methodologies; certifications such as PMP or Prince2 are advantageous.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and presentation abilities with varied stakeholders.
- Hands-on knowledge of project management tools including JIRA, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or analogs.
- Proven capability to handle complex multi-module SAP environments involving multiple vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in SAP S/4HANA or experience with RISE with SAP implementations.
- Work experience in industries like manufacturing, construction, real estate, or logistics.
- Awareness of cloud hosting solutions, integration platforms, and Industry 4.0 technology trends.
- Experience managing transformation initiatives that integrate SAP with third-party systems.
