Role Overview

The organization seeks an experienced SAP MM/P2P Solution Architect to spearhead implementations, rollouts, and support projects. This role demands deep expertise in procurement and inventory management, solution design leadership, and collaboration with global teams to deliver robust business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on SAP MM/P2P module implementation, deployment, and support initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze business requirements, craft solutions, and configure SAP MM modules in accordance with client needs.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including purchase requisitions, orders, contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Oversee inventory management activities including goods receipt, valuation, and invoice verification.
  • Ensure flawless integration of SAP MM with FI, SD, WM, and other modules.
  • Advise on industry best practices, optimize business processes, and enhance system performance.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to impart knowledge to business users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP MM/P2P process issues efficiently.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and quality business solutions.
  • Develop functional specifications for customization and collaborate closely with ABAP development teams.
  • Ensure adherence to Japanese business process standards, regulatory compliance, audits, and control frameworks.

Required Experience and Expertise

  • Between 10 and 15 years of hands-on SAP experience with a focus on Materials Management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement workflows, vendor management, and inventory control, particularly within S/4HANA MM (P2P-MM).
  • Practical experience configuring SAP MM components such as purchasing (including indirect procurement), inventory management, valuation, invoice verification, IDOC interfaces, material requirements planning, and flexible workflow systems.
  • Proven track record of successful implementations and ongoing support projects.
  • In-depth understanding of complex procurement processes including consumables procurement, subcontracting, consignments, contracts, scheduling agreements with third-party integration (IDOCs), import procurement, source determination, demand flow, stock transfers, automatic account determination and PO conversion, price and output determination, batch management, serialization, pipeline management, invoice planning, valuation receipt settlements, and data migration via LSMW/BDC.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting integrations between SAP and third-party applications.
  • Skilled in defining and managing interface patterns including IDocs, API/OData, EDI, flat files, and middleware such as CPI/PI/PO, with a focus on error management and system performance.
  • Experience generating comprehensive documentation including configuration guides, process flows, test scripts, and knowledge resources.
  • Competence in drafting functional specifications and collaborating with ABAP teams for feature testing.
  • Strong familiarity with SAP MM integration scenarios involving EWM, FI, SD, WM, and Ariba/SRM systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed at least one full lifecycle SAP implementation in the automotive or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience with advanced S/4HANA MM and P2P functionalities.
  • Background in working with Japanese business procedures and compliance requirements.

Location

Primarily offshore within India, flexible across any location.
