SAP Materials Management Consultant - Production Support

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned SAP Materials Management (MM) Consultant to deliver critical production support, focusing on urgent P1 and P2 incident resolution within the SAP MM module. This role demands 6 to 10 years of robust functional expertise to ensure uninterrupted procurement, inventory, and quality operations in a complex SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve high-priority (P1/P2) SAP MM incidents promptly adhering to SLA/KPI requirements.
• Conduct root cause analyses to identify and prevent recurring production problems.
• Collaborate with ABAP developers, BASIS, integration experts, and cross-functional teams for seamless issue resolution.
• Support triage, impact evaluation, prioritization, and escalation of tickets.
• Provide functional support for core procurement and inventory processes including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt/issues, invoice verification, vendor and material master data, inventory management, stock transfers, subcontracting, and consignment operations.
• Investigate and fix pricing, account determination, and release strategy issues.
• Facilitate integration support between MM and FI, SD, and PP SAP modules.
• Analyze business needs and implement minor configuration adjustments as required.
• Participate in testing, validating fixes and enhancements, and managing transport requests.
• Collaborate on developing functional specifications, analyzing defects, and supporting custom enhancements.
• Maintain detailed documentation including incident resolutions, root cause reports, and knowledge base articles.
• Adhere to ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management protocols ensuring process continuity and compliance with organizational standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 6 to 10 years of experience in SAP MM functional consulting and production support.
• Proven expertise in managing SAP MM production support with emphasis on P1 and P2 priority tickets.
• Comprehensive understanding of SAP MM processes such as procurement, inventory management, invoice verification, and master data management for materials and vendors.
