Job description
Role overview
As a Utility 1 in Sanitation, you will help keep the bakery and surrounding property clean and safe. The position covers both processing and non-processing equipment, including items such as windows, ceilings, restrooms, break areas, wash racks, cleaning tools, lights, mixers, ovens, and pans. Your work directly supports product safety and GMP compliance. This role also places you on the Food Defense Team.
Work location and shift details
This position is based at the Columbus, GA manufacturing plant and is fully on-site. Available schedules include first shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, second shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and third shift from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM.
Compensation
The base pay is $20.13 per hour. Night-shift work includes an additional shift differential of $0.50 per hour.
Key duties
You will work in a fast-moving manufacturing setting and complete sanitation assignments accurately, safely, and in line with written and verbal direction. The role requires flexibility across utility tasks and strong coordination with team members and production staff.
Additional information
All tools and equipment needed for the job are provided and maintained by the employer at no cost to employees, and they must remain on site.
Work environment
This is a manufacturing-floor role where noise levels can be high.
Physical requirements
The job regularly involves speaking and hearing, and frequently requires standing, walking, using hands, and reaching. You may also need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl at times. The position can involve lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling heavy carts and portable equipment. Strong visual ability is needed, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, along with the ability to adjust focus. Some equipment may require certification before use, subject to the current job safety analysis.
