Role Summary
The Facility Sanitation Technician is responsible for keeping the building and facility in a clean, organized, and safe condition. This includes cleaning offices, lunchrooms, restrooms, and other areas within the distribution center.
Responsibilities
- Carry out the master sanitation plan on schedule.
- Keep warehouse and facility equipment clean, including items such as crates, 4-yard waste bins, inspection tables, anti-fatigue mats, railings, floors, air handling units, and the floor scrubber.
- Check restrooms and shared areas throughout the day, restock supplies, and clean as needed.
- Inspect equipment and the facility for signs of damage and escalate issues to the appropriate authority.
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks on production lines on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Complete weekly ATP checks and maintain accurate records of the results.
- Prepare chemicals and monitor PPM levels each week.
- Operate the floor scrubber to keep warehouse floors clean.
- Empty waste containers and use a forklift to move garbage to exterior bins.
- Follow all physical security, food safety, health, and safety requirements consistently.
- Handle any other duties that the company assigns as part of the role.
Requirements
- A secondary school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in facility sanitation or a similar role is needed.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A reliable, proactive, hardworking, honest, and well-balanced approach to work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working Environment
Work hours may change based on operational requirements, so flexibility is important. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, handling objects, climbing ladders, using a scissor lift, operating a pressure washer, operating a floor scrubber, and reaching with hands and arms.
The position is based in a refrigerated warehouse environment with variable temperatures. Noise levels may be high because of packaging machinery and forklift activity. The job also involves regular lifting of up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
