Job Overview

The Sanitation Technician at the Central Hub is charged with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and facilities as per the Master Cleaning Schedule. Working under the Inventory Supervisor and in collaboration with the sanitation team, this role supports operational efficiency at the Vertique System within the Central Hub Distribution Center. The position operates Sunday through Thursday, with working hours from 11 pm to 7:30 am.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent and punctual attendance, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to fulfill operational requirements.
• Keep workstations and surrounding areas clean and compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, both inside and outside the Central Hub.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks on the Vertique System equipment such as palletizers, merge diverters, towers, wrappers, pallet chains, saw lanes, hand stacks, dog houses, and dock doors, following the Warehouse Master Cleaning Schedule.
• Ensure removal of all products prior to cleaning with water hoses to avoid contamination.
• Conduct routine maintenance and ensure proper functioning of cleaning tools and equipment, reporting issues promptly.
• Operate power washing equipment and scrubbers to clean designated areas effectively.
• Bale cardboard and plastic waste using compactors and ensure timely waste collection and disposal.
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely according to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Participate actively in food safety training and strictly adhere to GMPs under CFR 21 section 110.
• Follow all safety procedures, utilize proper lifting techniques, and comply with BRC safety practices.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate work status to supervisors.
• Maintain sanitation supplies in proper order, notifying leads when restocking is needed.

Additional Information

• Work environment involves variable temperature conditions ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold, requiring exposure both indoors and outdoors within the warehouse facility.
• The role is physically demanding, requiring frequent standing, walking, grasping, reaching, and manual manipulation. Lifting and moving pallets up to 65 pounds is common, alongside other physical activities such as bending, climbing stairs, crawling, squatting, and kneeling on an occasional basis.
• Vision capabilities (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth) and hearing are necessary to distinguish signal lights and respond to work demands.
• The position requires use of Personal Protective Equipment including high visibility garments, slip-resistant shoes, masks, and eye protection.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferred education: High School Diploma or GED. Additional sanitation, food safety, or related training is advantageous.
• Preferred experience: At least six months in sanitation, janitorial, or similar roles within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Skills include ability to operate Tenant Scrubber, strong communication and interpersonal capabilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
