Role Overview

As a Sanitation Attendant reporting to the Director of Engineering, you play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall guest experience at the lodge. Your attention to detail and dedication ensure guests enjoy a memorable and comfortable stay.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver courteous, engaging, and professional service consistently.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, service standards, and operational protocols.
  • Uphold brand quality standards as directed by your supervisor through diligent work.
  • Collect waste including garbage, cardboard, and recyclables from various bins and public areas.
  • Transport and properly dispose of waste materials at authorized recycling and disposal centers while following environmental guidelines.
  • Follow health, safety, sanitation, and environmental policies meticulously, completing all required inspections and documentation.
  • Operate standard vehicles such as pickup trucks, garbage trucks, forklifts, and skyreach lifts safely.
  • Serve as a backup laborer when needed, taking on related duties responsibly.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of waste management, storage, and working spaces.
  • Use manual tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, hoists, rigging materials, and log splitters responsibly and safely.
  • Comply with vehicle handling and safety protocols when operating hotel vehicles.
  • Embody the Fairmont brand promise, providing luxury service in every interaction.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment where every team member feels appreciated and respected.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous related experience would be advantageous.
  • Completion of high school and/or technical schooling is required.
  • Excellent physical fitness is essential for this hands-on role.
  • Ability to repair and replace brick pathways effectively.
  • Commitment to safe work practices including compliance with confined space regulations and promoting safety among colleagues.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with maintenance tasks considered a plus.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license mandatory for vehicle operation responsibilities.
  • Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada as the employer cannot assist with work permits.
