Role Summary
The Sales Specialist – Equipment & Consumables will be responsible for managing and expanding the sales territory across the South Island from Christchurch. This customer-facing position emphasizes building strong client relationships, implementing strategic territory plans, and driving profitable sales growth within the Scientific Solutions team.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed sales and gross margin objectives within the designated territory.
- Proactively manage customer accounts and document activities using Salesforce.
- Create and implement tailored business and customer strategies.
- Conduct at least 10 customer visits weekly and hold regular business reviews.
- Identify new business prospects, advance sales pipelines, and close deals efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service and handle issues with professionalism.
- Continuously monitor market conditions, competitive landscape, and customer trends to inform tactical decisions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and technical experts to enhance business development.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ sales experience within New Zealand’s scientific market.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment and consumables.
- Strong communication, presentation, and client relationship management abilities.
- Proven track record in achieving sales growth and negotiating business terms.
- Competence in planning, organizing, and managing sales territories effectively.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Possession of a tertiary qualification in Business, Science, or related discipline.
