Role overview
We are seeking a sales professional to help expand renewable energy business across French-speaking markets in West and Central Africa. The position is centered on growing revenue, building market presence, and promoting solutions such as solar power systems, hybrid systems, and photovoltaic technologies to commercial, industrial, and public-sector customers.
Sales and business development
- Source, approach, and win new business opportunities throughout Francophone Africa.
- Handle the complete sales journey from lead creation through contract closure and after-sales follow-up.
- Carry out market segmentation, customer profiling, and territory planning to support growth strategy.
- Present compelling sales proposals, product demos, and technical-commercial presentations to prospective clients.
Client relationship management
- Develop and sustain strong long-term relationships with key accounts, distributors, EPCs, government institutions, and corporate buyers.
- Advise clients on product choice, system design alternatives, and ways to improve energy cost efficiency.
- Work to maintain high customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Market intelligence and reporting
- Track new business opportunities, competitor activity, and market developments across the region.
- Submit weekly and monthly sales updates, forecasts, pipeline status, and market observations to the Country Manager.
- Suggest approaches for market entry, pricing, distribution growth, and product positioning.
Collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Coordinate with engineering, logistics, customer service, and finance teams to ensure smooth order delivery.
- Support marketing teams with product promotions, exhibitions, and digital campaigns for Francophone markets.
- Engage with government bodies, regulators, and energy agencies when needed.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Ghana Country Manager or senior leadership.
Education and experience
Candidates should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Marketing, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of sales experience is required, ideally in renewable energy, power solutions, or other technical B2B environments. Strong sales performance in multi-country settings is important. Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written, is mandatory. A well-established network in Francophone West and Central Africa will be considered an advantage.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of solar PV systems, hybrid solutions, inverters, batteries, and energy-efficiency products.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, presentations, and building business relationships.
- Professional conduct, self-drive, and sensitivity to different cultures.
- Willingness to travel often across Francophone Africa.
- Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms.
- Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and handle changing market conditions.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication abilities.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
