Role Summary
This Singapore-based, full-time position is responsible for growing aftermarket sales within the service function. The role focuses on achieving yearly sales and margin goals by building strong customer relationships, uncovering business opportunities, and guiding deals from early stage through to closure.
The Sales Manager will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to shape complete service offerings, including parts supply, maintenance opportunities, and related service solutions. The role also involves strengthening long-term customer partnerships and supporting broader commercial and project execution activities.
Key Responsibilities
The position requires developing sales direction, maintaining a healthy opportunity pipeline, and driving opportunities toward order conversion. Regular status reporting and effective coordination across stakeholders are also important parts of the job.
Sales Management
- Lead the generation of business and consistently deliver annual sales targets by identifying, developing, quoting, and closing opportunities in a timely manner.
- Track market movements to spot sales patterns and emerging trends.
- Maintain an active and well-balanced sales pipeline.
- Create and execute an effective sales approach to improve conversion rates.
- Identify additional service opportunities with existing and potential customers.
- Work with the Commercial Proposal Team to prepare competitive offers.
Customer, Vendor and Stakeholder Relationship
- Make sure customer needs and expectations are clearly passed on to internal teams.
- Share regular updates with stakeholders on sales progress, strategy, and current status.
- Engage proactively with both prospective and current customers to build lasting relationships and better understand their needs.
Service Business Support
- Collaborate with other business teams whenever support is required.
- Take part in service process improvement activities, including audits.
- Ensure purchase orders are issued to vendors on time and customer invoices are raised promptly.
- Work closely with customers to help avoid overdue payments.
- Assist the Project Team with project and service delivery execution.
Service Strategy Development and Deployment
- Contribute to discussions and meetings on service and project expansion strategies for group businesses, and help put agreed actions into practice.
- Recommend improvements that increase efficiency and support business growth.
- Prepare lesson-learned summaries and win/loss analyses for review.
Marketing Strategy
- Support the Marketing Team and participate in campaigns that promote service products and offerings.
- Research competitor movements and technology trends within the power industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 8 to 10 years of progressive experience, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of projects, parts, services, and maintenance related to steam turbines, generators, and boilers.
- Comfortable working with customers, developing opportunities from early stages, and managing complex sales conversations.
- Proven stakeholder management skills across customers, vendors, internal teams, and cross-functional groups.
- Strong relationship-building ability.
- Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
- Capability to design a sales strategy that turns opportunities into orders.
- Good planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management for handling multiple tasks at once.
