About the Role
This position is for a Sales Manager in the Micro & Enterprise Lending vertical. The role focuses on originating business, winning new customers, and managing the lending portfolio for MSME loans, loan against property (LAP), and working capital support for micro-enterprises and SMEs. Success in this role means meeting disbursement goals while protecting portfolio quality and keeping overdue accounts under control.
What You Will Do
- Plan and implement sales approaches that help achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly disbursement and revenue goals for MEL offerings.
- Identify, approach, and onboard new corporate and MSME customers through direct selling, territory mapping, and existing professional relationships.
- Review basic financial statements such as balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements to judge repayment capacity and business strength.
- Carry out field checks and personal discussions with business promoters to evaluate creditworthiness and intent.
- Hire, guide, and develop Sales Officers and Relationship Managers so the team remains productive and generates strong leads.
- Track portfolio performance, spot emerging risk early, and support timely collections to keep delinquency low.
- Maintain durable client relationships that support customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals.
What We Are Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a similar discipline; an MBA is preferred.
- 4 to 6 years of direct sales experience in NBFCs or banking, preferably in MSME, MEL, or LAP lending.
- Good understanding of credit appraisal, working capital limits, term loans, and both secured and unsecured loan products.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in local languages will be a strong advantage.
