Role overview
The Sales Executive will support business growth for a hospitality business in Sligo by identifying new opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and helping to deliver sales targets. The role involves active account management, sales planning, market awareness, and close coordination with internal teams to ensure a high standard of service.
Key responsibilities
- Research prospective corporate clients and create new business opportunities through networking, outbound calling, events, and other lead sources.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with important decision-makers and existing accounts.
- Meet clients regularly and deliver presentations to both current and potential customers.
- Support the creation and execution of sales plans that help achieve revenue goals.
- Prepare sales proposals and contracts that are tailored to client requirements.
- Track market conditions, competitor activity, and industry developments to spot opportunities and improve sales performance.
- Generate business from small business accounts, reader boards, and referrals received through internal channels.
- Use business intelligence and third-party data to identify and pursue new leads.
- Negotiate commercial terms with clients and close sales in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Work with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align sales activity, support onboarding, and maintain client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, complete sales administration, and issue follow-ups, research calls, and rate contracts as needed.
- Communicate negotiated rates to reservations, front office, and accounts teams.
- Support customer-facing sales activity for Dublin hotels where appropriate, including lunch-and-learns, social events, company-of-the-month initiatives, local industry events, and CVB activities.
- Ensure promotional material, advertising, and branded content are approved and aligned with brand standards.
- Monitor hotel publicity material and make sure adequate branded stock is available.
- Handle client questions and complaints professionally and escalate issues to the relevant manager when needed.
- Attend weekly and monthly sales meetings, along with other management meetings when required.
- Show strong personal presentation, punctuality, attendance, teamwork, and customer care.
- Be prepared for flexible working hours, travel, and different work locations as business needs require.
- Manage travel and accommodation spending carefully and look for best-value options.
- Follow company procedures, statutory requirements, and relevant training, including fire, health and safety, and hygiene standards.
- Take on additional reasonable duties as assigned to support business needs.
Requirements
- Experience working in sales, ideally within hospitality or a related customer-facing environment.
- Ability to build trust with clients and maintain long-term account relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Confidence in generating leads, qualifying opportunities, and closing deals.
- Good understanding of sales planning, target achievement, and performance tracking.
- Ability to analyse market trends and competitor activity.
- Competence using CRM systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Organised approach to sales administration, follow-ups, and reporting.
- Comfort working collaboratively with marketing, operations, customer service, and management teams.
- Flexible attitude toward working hours, travel, and location changes.
- Professional conduct, proactive working style, and attention to customer service.
- Willingness to follow company policies and complete relevant training.
Additional information
This position is based in Sligo, County Sligo, Ireland and is offered on a contract, onsite basis. The role is part of the hospitality industry and is positioned at associate level. Brand standards
- All printed materials, promotions, and advertising must be approved before release.
- Any branded material used in or circulated from the hotel must comply with brand guidelines.
- Marketing initiatives should be promoted whenever appropriate.
- The required level of branded stock must be maintained and publicity materials monitored.
Quality and customer service
- Work with the hotel team to ensure new and existing companies receive excellent service and develop loyalty.
- Deal with enquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, and inform the relevant manager of any issues.

- Attend weekly and monthly sales meetings, as well as other management meetings when requested.
