Job description
Role Overview
This role sits within the Sales & Marketing function at Marriott International in Kampala, Uganda. The position is full time and is based onsite. It is a non-management role focused on guest-facing sales support, reservation handling, and service coordination.
What You Will Do
- Connect guests with the right internal team or department, such as Sales, Data Administration, or Accounting, to resolve questions, requests, and concerns.
- Apply selling methods that help grow revenue while preserving guest loyalty, including upselling where appropriate.
- Offer approved compliments or rewards to guests, such as points, tickets, or gift certificates, to recognize patronage.
- Build awareness of the brand both within the organization and in the wider market.
- Handle redemption requests for Marriott Rewards points.
- Manage reservation enquiries, modifications, and cancellations received by telephone, fax, or mail.
- Enter Marriott Rewards details into the relevant system when processing guest reservations.
- Answer, record, and follow through on guest calls, questions, and service issues.
- Carry out general administrative work in support of Sales & Marketing, including filing, email communication, typing, and faxing.
- Support management by helping train and motivate colleagues and by acting as a strong example for others.
- Follow company procedures, maintain a professional appearance, and protect confidential and proprietary information.
- Welcome guests according to company standards, respond promptly to their needs, and thank them in a genuine manner.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, and prepare written materials with accuracy and completeness.
- Use proper telephone etiquette and maintain constructive working relationships with teammates.
- Help the team achieve shared goals, respond appropriately to coworker concerns, and monitor work quality standards.
- Read and verify information across different formats and complete other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- No prior supervisory experience is required.
- No license or certification is needed.
Work Environment
The job is based at Ggaba Road, P.O. Box 190771, Kampala, Uganda, 25601. It is scheduled as full time and is not remote.
