Role Summary

This position focuses on solution-driven sales and account management centered around geared motors and gearbox overhaul/repair services. The role demands a blend of mechanical expertise and commercial insight to deliver practical, cost-efficient solutions while supporting the New Zealand team in meeting sales targets and maintaining high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide both technical and field sales support for geared motor products and repair services targeting OEM and MRO markets.
  • Offer pre-sale technical advice and post-sale follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and optimal solution performance.
  • Support sales in discovering new geared motor opportunities and collaborate with Application Engineers and Product Managers as needed.
  • Keep precise CRM records and coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Workshop teams for smooth project implementation.
  • Manage scoping, planning, and oversight of gearmotor repair, replacement, and installation projects from initial quotes to project completion.
  • Evaluate technical specs, site requirements, and safety considerations to minimize risk and uphold best practices.
  • Develop and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) ensuring complete traceability for sales and engineering projects.
  • Conduct inspections and investigations on gearmotor failures including warranty claims, providing clear technical recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed repair quotations covering parts, machining, external suppliers, and labor with strong commercial acumen.
  • Deliver onsite technical diagnostics, training, and expert support, ensuring adherence to strict safety standards.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with thorough knowledge of power transmission and geared motor products and their applications.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to think ahead and offer constructive challenges.

  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint) and business software such as CRM systems, Power BI, Pronto/Green Tree, and Workday.
