Join ALS, a global organization leveraging data-driven scientific testing to contribute to a healthier future. We are seeking an experienced Sales and Business Development Specialist for our Hamilton, Waikato location to drive new business growth, nurture client relationships, and increase our presence in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business prospects across traditional and emerging market sectors.
  • Establish and nurture new client relationships to broaden market reach.
  • Conduct market research to understand trends, client needs, and competitive challenges.
  • Generate new business opportunities and support broader development initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders, technical documents, and marketing collateral.
  • Ensure punctual submission of quotations and tenders.
  • Maintain a professional image while keeping abreast of industry developments and competitor activity.
  • Engage in networking activities through associations, events, and social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Provide support to the Business Development Manager as required.
  • Comply with ALS global policies, directives, and branding standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in sales with excellent communication skills, ideally within science or laboratory contexts.
  • Self-motivated individual able to independently seek and build client relations.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office and strong networking capability.
  • Client-oriented mindset with adaptability to meet diverse needs.
  • Exceptional organizational, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to quality service.
  • Ability to pinpoint new business opportunities and an understanding of financial controls such as expense management.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines, and responding promptly to internal stakeholders.
  • Energetic, adaptable, motivated, and quick to absorb new knowledge.
