Role Overview
The Sales and Applications Engineer serves as a full-time, client-facing professional responsible for delivering end-to-end support throughout the sales and application process of Dantec Dynamics' measurement products. This includes engaging with both new and existing clients to comprehend their technical requirements, presenting product features, and recommending suitable turnkey or customized solutions. Routine duties include offering pre- and post-sales technical assistance, preparing demonstrations, technical documentation, and coordinating testing and validation to optimize system functionality.
Key Duties
- Meet or surpass the yearly sales targets for the designated territory.
- Proactively identify and engage new potential customers within the territory.
- Forge and maintain enduring relationships with key clients.
- Promote Dantec's offerings via social media platforms and deliver presentations both virtually and in-person; participate in industry conferences and exhibitions as necessary.
- Handle customer inquiries, provide product configuration advice, and prepare and follow-up on quotations.
- Monitor relevant public tenders and respond as appropriate.
- Support and grow existing customer bases.
- Conduct product demonstrations and perform contract measurements using Dantec's Fluid Mechanics instrumentation.
- Install and commission measurement systems at client locations and conduct user training when needed.
- Plan sales and marketing activities within the specified budget.
- Report on past, present, and forecasted sales performance for the region.
- Maintain accurate and updated records in the CRM system for all customer communications and sales prospects.
- Travel as needed to meet customers and representatives within the EU or globally.
- Mentor and develop team members to maximize their performance.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree, diploma, or PhD in engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering or physics.
- Preferred but not mandatory: 3-5 years of sales experience involving laser-optic research instrumentation, especially within Mechanical Engineering applications focused on Fluid Mechanics.
- Experience managing sales personnel or distributors is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of fluid mechanics principles.
- Technical knowledge of at least one measurement technique among LDA, PDA, CTA, or PIV/PTV.
- Fluency in both German and English languages.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Highly self-motivated with a positive, proactive approach.
- Strong sense of ownership over personal and business areas.

- Proven capacity to operate complex optical measurement systems and develop experimental setups tailored to application requirements.
