Job Overview

Working closely with safety experts, you will monitor workplace conditions and contribute directly to protecting the health of staff on site.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Oversee adherence to Amazon's health and safety protocols across the site.
- Compile and maintain detailed safety metrics reports for internal review.
- Collaborate with Operations and other departments by providing safety-related guidance and support.
- Assist in implementing new safety initiatives and improvements.
A Typical Day
You will be stationed at one of the company's facilities, allowing you to observe site operations closely and be accessible to colleagues for safety-related inquiries throughout their shifts. Your focus will be on proactively identifying risks and understanding equipment and task processes to recommend effective safety enhancements. Active engagement in implementing safety changes and supporting daily and ad-hoc safety activities with Operations will be key parts of your role. Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting and sharing vital safety data to help maintain high safety standards and preempt issues.
About the Workplace Health and Safety Team
The WHS team is integral to promoting physical and mental wellbeing at Amazon's locations. By working with management, associates, and regulatory bodies, the team ensures compliance with internal policies and legal safety regulations. Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of NEBOSH National General Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in a related field.
- Experience in analyzing data to produce and interpret safety-related metrics.
- Familiarity with UK Health and Safety legislation.
- Proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or Kaizen continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in planning or managing environmentally sustainable initiatives.
- Ability to operate both autonomously and within a team environment.
