Role Overview

Chandigarh University is seeking a Safety Supervisor for its Gharuan campus in Mohali, Punjab. The role focuses on keeping university events and activities safe by planning preventive measures, managing response procedures, and ensuring compliance with required standards.

Core Responsibilities

Design, roll out, and track safety measures for university functions and on-campus activities.
Run safety awareness sessions and training for staff members, volunteers, and event teams.
Create, update, and enforce safety rules, SOPs, and emergency response plans.
Assess risks and identify hazards before and during events.
Work closely with administration, security, and medical teams to support safe event execution.
Make sure activities follow applicable legal safety requirements and university policies.
Oversee crowd management, evacuation planning, and incident handling during events.
Keep detailed logs of drills, incidents, and training activities.
Check venues, equipment, and infrastructure for safety readiness and compliance.
Respond quickly and provide support during accidents or emergency situations.

Qualifications and Experience

The preferred background is a bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a similar discipline. Candidates with safety-related certifications such as Fire Safety, First Aid, NEBOSH, or IOSH will be preferred. The role calls for 2 to 5 years of experience in safety supervision, ideally in events, educational institutions, or large-scale organizations.

Skills and Capabilities

Successful candidates should have a strong grasp of event safety procedures, risk control, emergency planning, training delivery, team coordination, and calm decision-making under pressure.
