Safety Officer - Infrastructure Projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Join Parsons Corporation as a Safety Officer working full-time onsite in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Parsons is a worldwide leader in engineering, construction, and technology, focused on advancing meaningful infrastructure projects including defense, smart cities, transportation, and environmental solutions. This position entails direct site engagement, collaborating closely with Safety Managers and contractors to enforce and enhance Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across a major infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Parsons' HSE policies, plans, and UAE HSE regulatory requirements and monitor compliance and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Safety Managers and site contractors to embed corporate HSE values and ensure full compliance on site.
• Conduct inspections of contractor operations to confirm adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Evaluate Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment reports for main site operations, ensuring hazard controls, safety plans, and work methods are effective.
• Perform routine site visits for HSE monitoring and report outcomes to the Resident Engineer for prompt resolution of issues.
• Assess monthly HSE inspection reports submitted by contractors.
• Lead monthly safety meetings, establishing objectives, resolving pending safety issues, and disseminating minutes to stakeholders.
• Review contractor Emergency Preparedness plans, permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, meeting records, and safety statistics.
• Analyze incident and accident investigation reports, communicate learnings, and track corrective measures to avoid recurrence.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or relevant field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of five years' HSE experience in infrastructure or construction projects.
• Possession of valid UAE-recognized health and safety certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHAD Qudorat/ADOSH SF, First Aid, Fire Safety, or equivalents.
• Availability for onsite interviews in the UAE.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years recent construction supervision experience on infrastructure projects.
• Previous exposure to engineering consultancy work.
• Experience working on UAE projects and holding a valid UAE driving license.

Compensation and Benefits

The monthly salary range for this role is AED 8000 to AED 16000, fully tax-free. Benefits include medical coverage, annual leave, and end-of-service gratuity in accordance with UAE Labour Law. Relocation support for visa processing is commonly provided for eligible candidates.
