Role Summary
This position is a full-time, on-site Safety Officer role in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving workplace safety and health standards across construction sites, ensuring alignment with Singapore regulations and internal company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections of construction sites to spot unsafe conditions and potential risks.
- Put corrective actions in place and follow through on safety improvements.
- Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and incident-related reports.
- Lead toolbox talks and support regular safety briefings for workers and site teams.
- Assist with investigations into accidents and incidents, including identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and workers to strengthen safety awareness and build a culture of compliance.
- Oversee security measures and site access control to help maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of occupational health and safety rules applicable to construction work.
- Hands-on experience with accident investigation, incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
- Ability to manage site security and access control processes.
- Capability to conduct safety training, toolbox meetings, and on-site awareness sessions.
- Relevant safety qualification such as WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health, or an equivalent credential, along with knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation.
- Prior experience working as a Safety Officer or in a similar position within construction or civil engineering projects.
- Strong communication and people skills to engage teams and influence stakeholders at different levels.
- Careful attention to detail, strong documentation habits, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.
