Job Overview
This full-time, permanent role is for a Safety Officer at the NRL project site in Assam. The position is aimed at immediate joiners and offers a monthly salary of INR 40,000 to 55,000, depending on the interview outcome and the candidate’s last drawn salary. The role reports to the Project Manager or Project Director.
Eligibility and Experience
Candidates should have one of the following qualifications and related construction safety experience:
- A degree in Engineering, Technology, or Architecture with at least 7 to 8 years of supervisory experience in building, industrial, or infrastructure construction safety.
- A degree or 1-year diploma in Industrial Safety, recognized by AICTE or a State Technical Board, along with exposure to construction safety.
- As a statutory alternative, a B.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry plus a degree or diploma in Industrial Safety, with a minimum of 7 to 8 years of experience in construction or industrial projects.
Applicants should also have practical experience on CPWD, PSU, or large industrial projects. Familiarity with CPWD safety codes, IS standards, BOCW Act, and other statutory safety norms is required. Knowledge of Hindi is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Put safety systems into practice and ensure they are followed in line with CPWD rules, IS codes, BOCW Act provisions, and other legal requirements.
- Carry out regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk evaluations.
- Plan and deliver safety training, toolbox meetings, and worker awareness sessions.
- Verify that PPE is used correctly and safe work methods are maintained throughout construction activities.
- Look into incidents, near-miss cases, and unsafe behavior, then prepare investigation reports and corrective and preventive action plans.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and NRL personnel to support site safety compliance.
- Keep safety registers, permits, checklists, and all required statutory documentation updated and organized.
- Encourage and sustain a strong safety-first culture across the project site.
