Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and committed Safety Officer to oversee the execution of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols at our project locations. This role involves ensuring compliance with legal requirements, performing safety audits, minimizing workplace hazards, and cultivating a robust safety culture to protect employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee HSE policies and procedures at various project sites.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and perform hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Ensure adherence to statutory safety laws, company policies, and client standards.
- Lead safety training sessions such as inductions and toolbox talks to raise awareness.
- Supervise high-risk operations ensuring compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) protocols and safe working practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing recommendations for corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including inspection reports, permits, and incident logs.
- Collaborate with project teams to drive continuous enhancements in workplace safety.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of HSE regulations and statutory compliance related to workplace safety.
- Experience in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and conducting incident investigations.
- Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and emergency response protocols.
- Competency in MS Office applications and managing safety documentation.
- Excellent communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of working independently to maintain a safe and regulation-compliant working environment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Holds a Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Engineering or Science disciplines.
- Preferably certified in NEBOSH, IOSH, Industrial Safety, or equivalent qualifications.
- Has between 1 to 5 years of experience working as a Safety Officer in sectors such as Industrial, Infrastructure, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), or Water & Wastewater projects.
- Available to join immediately or within 15 days.
