Safety Inspector

Role overview

Arabian Construction Co. is looking for a Safety Inspector to support construction site safety activities in Abu Dhabi. The role involves working under supervision and alongside another safety officer to help maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements across site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out safety inspections on construction sites with supervision and in coordination with another safety officer to confirm adherence to applicable health, safety, and environmental rules.
• Spot hazards, support risk assessments, and help ensure suitable control measures are put in place.
• Check site activities for compliance with ADPHC / ADOSH, DM, and other local regulatory obligations.
• Take part in joint accident and incident investigations, including identifying root causes.
• Perform follow-up inspections to verify that earlier findings and corrective actions have been fully closed.
• Assist in applying the company HSE management system and related site safety procedures.
• Support toolbox talks, safety awareness initiatives, and communication of safety expectations to site teams.
• Keep detailed safety inspection records and help prepare reports for HSE management.
• Perform other HSE-related tasks as assigned, with the approval of the Group HSE Manager.

Qualifications and competencies

• Completed high school education.
• IOSH Managing Safety Certificate is required; NVQ Level 2 equivalent.
• NEBOSH General Certificate in OHS or OSHA 10 Hours General Industry Safety & Health Program is preferred; these are equivalent to NVQ Level 3.
• Extra HSE-related training is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of relevant Health and Safety experience in engineering or construction infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of hazard spotting, risk assessment, and applicable safety regulations and standards.
• Strong ability to communicate, document, and prepare reports.
• Practical experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Additional Abu Dhabi requirement

For Safety Inspectors working in Abu Dhabi, completion of the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH SF) Practitioners Course and Grade C certification are mandatory.
