Role Overview
We are looking to hire a proactive and experienced Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor for our Limerick area projects. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining exemplary SHEQ standards throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project management teams with the effective implementation of SHEQ systems on-site.
- Develop and maintain SHEQ-related documentation such as method statements, risk assessments, safety plans, environmental management plans, and quality plans.
- Evaluate subcontractor method statements and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislative and company standards.
- Perform consistent site inspections and audits, promptly addressing and resolving any non-compliance issues.
- Track and report SHEQ performance metrics to senior management.
- Participate in SHEQ meetings, contributing to action plan creation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Keep detailed records, statistics, and reports concerning SHEQ activities.
- Collaborate with site personnel, subcontractors, and internal teams to champion best practices across SHEQ disciplines.
- Encourage and support the advancement of a strong safety culture within the organization.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in SHEQ, Health & Safety, or Environmental roles within the construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety laws and construction compliance standards.
- Proven ability to prepare and scrutinize risk assessments and method statements.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and subcontractors.
- Attention to detail coupled with analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office and SHEQ reporting tools.
- Desirable: Relevant Health & Safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent diploma.
