Safety and Security Officer

Position Summary

Somtrade Limited is currently recruiting a committed Safety and Security Officer to oversee the security and safety operations of its Container Freight Station (CFS) located in Mombasa. The successful candidate will possess comprehensive expertise in safety and security procedures, sharp observational skills, and the capacity to strictly implement safety regulations.

Responsibilities and Skills Required

• Maintain vigilance over the CFS premises ensuring safety and security protocols are followed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and security standards and manage emergency response coordination.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports and logs related to safety and security activities.
• Handle security incidents effectively while coordinating with appropriate authorities.
• Apply knowledge of cargo handling and safety regulations to minimize risks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of high school education or an equivalent qualification.
• Preferred certification in safety and security management.
• Between 3 to 5 years of practical experience in safety and security, with a preference for those who have worked in logistics or freight forwarding sectors.
• Prior experience working within a Container Freight Station environment is a beneficial asset.
• Strong skills in documenting reports and maintaining security logs accurately.
