What the role involves

The main purpose of this position is to oversee the rubber-lining repair and maintenance workload in a workshop setting. The work includes rebuilding and refurbishing rubber-lined parts used in mining and processing, carrying out rubber lining and re-lining tasks, and applying protective wear surfaces where required. • Look for cost improvements, waste reduction and value-adding opportunities.
  • Promote high housekeeping standards and the behaviours that support them.
  • Help improve quality assurance processes and workshop standards.
  • Read drawings and apply practical knowledge of rubber-lining methods, workshop procedures and component preparation.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant is detail-oriented, hands-on and ready to take initiative. They should be able to represent and support the values of Mount Isa Mines, and ideally bring trade skills in rubber lining or another industrial wear-protection discipline. Supervisory background is considered an advantage.
